When a few pioneers from Dassault Systèmes created the first lines of software code that was to become CATIA, they simply wanted to be able to imagine a product and view it in three dimensions. The Version 3 and Version 4 developments, and now the Version 5 Solutions based on this concept have moved far beyond the original dream. However the quest to demonstrate and promote mastery has been more difficult to realize; that is until now. As companies and individuals make the transition to the latest technology advancements with the CATIA Version 5 solutions they now have a tool to assist in the evaluation, measurement and recognition of their skills and knowledge. This tool is called certification.

The CATIA Certified Professional Program has created a worldwide benchmark that allows individuals and companies to objectively compare their skills and knowledge to a standard. The program was made available in December of 2002 and has since continued to gain acceptance and momentum within the CATIA community of business partners and customers. As the program nears it 350th certified individual, the Expert Level exams are completing the final stages of validation and verification and will be released for general availability this month.

A discount voucher program has been created to allow companies to take advantage of their participation in the COE organization. The voucher program provides a 10% discount on the purchase of certification exams for all member companies that are in current standing with the COE organization. This discount can be cumulated with a volume discount.
