DELMIA Corp. Welcomes a New Gold Partner into the Software Community Program

DELMIA Corp. announced that METROLOGIC GROUP has joined the Software Community Program (SCP) as a Gold Partner. Through this development partnership METROLOGIC GROUP will develop, market and sell application based on the V5 architecture, integrated and complementary to CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA V5 solutions.

METROLOGIC GROUP® will develop on the V5 architecture an application for online programming of CMM's (Coordinate Measuring Machines) named METROLOG V5. The METROLOG V5 -- CAA V5 Based -- application enables inspection departments to utilize the off-line CMM program that was created by V5 DELMIA Inspect to directly analyze how closely manufactured parts compare to their CAD data. The METROLOG V5 -- CAA V5 Based -- application will allow CMM users to record a program on-line at the CMM. In this "teaching mode" the CMM path is learned from CMM moves and once the program is recorded users can run the program automatically on that CMM or a similar CMM. The METROLOG V5 -- CAA V5 Based -- application also increases programming efficiency by providing users with the ability to directly access tolerances from the CAD model and by automatically generating inspection results that can be exported for use in SPC (Statistical Process Control) software packages.

CATIA Web-Based Learning Solutions

CATIA Web-Based Learning Solutions provide CATIA users with online tools to help them master the capabilities that CATIA Version 5 offers. Release 7 of the CATIA Web-Based Learning Solutions has been announced and offers enhancements to the CATIA User Companion for Mechanical Design, CATIA User Companion for Hybrid Design and the User Companion for DMU products. These new enhancements provide the following:

New Intellistation Announced

The newest addition to the IBM family of professional workstations is the Intellistation M Pro with the Intel Xeon processor. This workstation supports an optional second Xeon processor and up to 4GB of ECC memory. The second processor can benefit design professionals by increasing throughput of multiple compute-intensive tasks or of a single, multithreaded application. CATIA V5 certification for this new workstation is currently in process.
