Tata Technologies, IBM and Dassault Systèmes Join Forces to Meet Growing Demand for PLM Solutions in India
Objective: Deliver Solutions and Services to Help Indian Manufacturers Streamline Production Processes
IBM and Dassault Systèmes today announced an agreement with Tata Technologies Limited, India's leading provider of engineering and design services to the automotive and aerospace industries, to expand marketing, sales, and services of their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Tata Technologies becomes an IBM Business Partner and a Dassault Systèmes Services Provider and Education Partner.
With support and certification from Dassault Systèmes, Tata Technologies will create a PLM Competency Center to provide demonstrations, training, technical support, and software application customization of IBM PLM Solutions.
IBM PLM Solutions, comprised of CATIA, ENOVIA and SMARTEAM collaborative product development and data management applications developed by Dassault Systèmes, help manufacturers of all types innovate, improve product quality, and reduce both costs and product development times. They also help companies collaborate internally, across geographic boundaries and with suppliers.
As an IBM Business Partner, Tata Technologies will sell and support IBM PLM Solutions to manufacturers throughout India, including Tata Motors and its suppliers.
Tata Technologies will play a key role in transforming the existing manufacturing platform of Tata Technologies' sister company Tata Motors to a collaborative 3D development environment using IBM PLM Solutions that will link all of the company's product, process and resource data, as well as its development and manufacturing teams.
"As the largest user of CATIA in India, this agreement gives Tata Technologies deep access to Dassault technologies and internals to allow us to provide our customers the most appropriate, advanced and cost effective solutions to meet their increased engineering needs," said Patrick
McGoldrick, Managing Director, Tata Technologies. "Our customers are looking to obtain significant savings in time to market by adopting CATIA V5, PLM and knowledge-based engineering."
"Our global customers now have a benchmark by which they can assure themselves of the quality of our engineering and design services," said Jeff Sage, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Technologies. "India's economy is booming and this agreement is an important landmark in our efforts to respond to growing customer demand with the world's most advanced PLM software solutions, best practices, and consulting services."
"By teaming with Tata Technologies, we now give our clients in India, including Tata Motors and its suppliers, greater access to IBM's extensive experience and leadership in implementing integrated PLM solutions," said Raoul van Engelshoven, vice president, IBM Product Lifecycle Management, Asia Pacific.
"Joining forces with India's leading engineering and design services company exemplifies IBM's commitment to delivering world-class solutions and services to all of our global markets. Together, we will help manufacturers in India drive productivity and efficiency and ultimately improve their competitive positioning in the global marketplace," van Engelshoven continued.
"With this strategic agreement, Tata Technologies can offer companies in India the competitive advantage gained using our PLM solutions," said Francis Bernard, Advisor to the President, Dassault Systèmes. "Through our Version 5 (V5) Development Service Provider agreement, Dassault Systèmes will assist Tata Technologies to fulfill its software customization service activity based on our V5 architecture."

ENOVIA Corp. and Galaxia Inc. Form CAA V5 Software Partnership for Enterprise Collaborative Business Process Management Applications
Galaxia solutions for enterprise collateral business processes to enhance ENOVIA
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and decision support solutions provider ENOVIA Corp., a Dassault Systèmes company (NASDAQ: DASTY: Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), today announced the signing of an ENOVIA Component Application Architecture V5 (CAA V5) software partnership with Galaxia Inc., a leading provider of enterprise business process management and business process integration solutions.
The partnership further expands what ENOVIA V5 PLM customers can accomplish using the Galaxia ePCM solutions. The Galaxia application acts as a global business process federator to integrate and monitor various enterprise local business processes. It supports application integration using connectors to other enterprise applications like ERP, SCM and PLM. This end-to-end enterprise process workflow integration enhances existing ENOVIA products enabling customers to respond faster to market needs, and adapt faster to changes in supply and demand.
ENOVIA LCA, with Galaxia, will deliver key functionalities that customers have recognized as critical components in achieving an extended enterprise PLM solution: rapid modeling and simulation of business processes; logical integration and connection of people, processes, and enterprise applications across the extended enterprise; plus efficient monitoring and management of the product development business processes improving overall business performance.
As part of this partnership Galaxia will deliver its ePCM solution and off-the-shelf connectors to SAP, Metaphase and other enterprise systems on top of the ENOVIA CAA V5 infrastructure, leveraging IBM Websphere middleware, and deliver a set of comprehensive process-centric solutions. For example, an enterprise process like a change request scenario could involve engineering, manufacturing and other enterprise/business systems. A change request originating from an enterprise user could trigger workflows in engineering (ENOVIA), manufacturing (DELMIA) and finance/business (SAP).
Galaxia ePCM, built on V5, provides capabilities to manage this enterprise process from definition through deployment, including execution and measurement, managing exceptions, change and redevelopment, and integration with the product lifecycle. Galaxia solutions are Web-based and allow for easy collaboration between various locations in the company and suppliers throughout the extended enterprise. It expands the ENOVIA CAA V5 portfolio and suite of solutions to better serve enterprise and industry specific needs and requirements.
“This partnership leverages the core competencies of both our companies to provide a unique, end-to-end solution for Enterprise PLM/SRM Collateral Business Processes,” said Stephane Declee, vice president, Research and Development, ENOVIA Corp. He continued, “Leveraging the ENOVIA open architecture, the Galaxia ePCM solution enables global collaboration across heterogeneous applications and processes, leading to dramatic reduction in time-to-market and greater ROI for all customers.”
“We believe that this partnership provides significant benefits to our customers’ enterprise, engineering, and manufacturing strategy,” said Abdellah Hoummady, CEO of Galaxia Inc. “Galaxia ePCM offers a set of tools and application templates to facilitate a fast deployment and rapid product delivery. Our customers will be able to monitor their business performance in real time and react to change quickly and effectively.”
