The COE Spring 2002 Conference & Trade Show is a Hit
The COE Spring 2002 Conference & TechniFair was one of the most successful COE events to date. More than 1,100 users, Dassault Systemes and IBM representatives, and third-party vendor representatives gathered in Palm Springs, California for a week of information sharing and networking, enjoying nearly 200 technical sessions and visiting with more than 40 vendors in more than 60 booths in the TechniFair. Featured Speakers Kick Off COE 2002 Spring Conference & TechniFair
Famed Voyage pilot, Dick Rutan, provided an inspiring presentation describing how he battled sleeplessness and adverse weather to successfully complete the first ever around-the-world, non-stop, non-refueled flight. Then, Bernard Charles and Ed Petrozelli kicked off the Spring 2002 conference by highlighting the vision and directions for our technology.
COE Fall 2001 Best Speaker Awards
Best speakers are chosen through the individual session surveys and comments received at each conference. One winner is chosen for each PIC Division and one general session speaker. The winners for the Fall 2001 Conference were recognized on Monday morning of the Spring 2002 Confernece with a trophy. Congratulations to the following winners:

Award of Merit
The COE Award of Merit is conferred annually to honor outstanding individuals from COE member companies, who have made valued singular contributions to COE. Congratulations to:
- Bob Daniels Cessna Aircraft - Daniels has been a strategic supporter of COE through his valued plenary session presentations, as well as his leadership roles on the Board of Directors, DPC chairperson, and subsequently the head of the DPC. As the DPC leader, Daniels brought the council to its next level of development significantly improving its effectiveness and the quality of its results.
- Carl Seibert - Seibert has been an avid contributor on the COE Forum since its inception in 1995. He, almost, daily replies to technical questions posted to the forum by users from around the world. His particular knowledge about the transfer of CATIA data between automotive OEMs and suppliers is evident in his replies to problems in this arena. Seibert was one of the founding members of TACO (Tidewater Area CATIA Operators), a new regional users group in southeast Virginia.
