North Texas COE RUG Report

The North Texas COE Regional Users Group (RUG) delivered another outstanding, technology filled session at the May 3 RUG meeting held at Tarrant County College South Campus. In attendance were members of the local user community such as Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter Textron and Vought Aircraft as well as members of the local colleges, Tarrant County College and Weatherford College. Supporting this event were business partners DELMIA, FARO, IBM, INCAT and MSC.
Highlights of this event were presentations by Deidra Donald of DELMIA demonstrating DELMIA Process Engineer, Shawn Hamell of Faro Digital Inspection demonstrating the Faro Arm, MSC presented CAT-CMM, Lee Harmon of IBM delivered the first of a series on V4-V5 interoperability, and Louis Tovar of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics presented V5 CATSettings.
Planning for the next RUG meeting is complete. It will be held August 9, 2002 at Tarrant County College South Campus in the Student Union Building from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On the agenda is INCAT presenting In-Check, IBM presenting V4-V5 interoperability (session II), Dassault-USA presenting Companion and MSC presenting CATIA V5/CAE.
Weekly planning meetings are being held in preparation for the next RUG meeting scheduled for Nov 15 at Tarrant County College South Campus. Anyone interested in learning more about new CAD/CAM/CAE technologies being utilized in the North Texas area and beyond is encouraged to attend.
