The Arizona CATIA Exchange (ACE)

Our Arizona CATIA users group, ACE, is still trying to find how it can best serve the CATIA user community in Arizona. We want to be able to provide timely information the fits the needs of our user community.

We have held several evening meetings to present V5 and PDM/SMARTEAM information along with user demonstrations. We have also had Windows workstations available for the users.

We have the typical mix of users and versions of CATIA being used, from having V5 in production to V4 in production and V5 on selected programs to V4 only in production.

Our group is composed of CATIA users and several CATIA business partners. We are getting excellent support from IBM and the business partners, whether it is providing speakers, doing demonstrations, supplying hardware or providing other support resources.

Our next meeting will be held in Tucson, AZ at Krebs Engineers. We will have a presentation on V5R8 that we expect will be GA by then. The Krebs team will present some to the interesting things they have been doing with V5 along with a tour of their facility. And as always there will be time for general discussion of items of interest or just questions that folks are looking for answers to.

We will then plan to have a meeting sometime in May to share the new information that comes from the Spring COE Conference in Palm Springs.

Latest Meeting of the CATIA Operators Exchange of the North Texas Region

The CATIA Operators Exchange of the North Texas Region had their second meeting on January 25, 2001. More than 50 people attended this meeting held at Tarrant Community College. The agenda included:

• Enovia LCA - Alex Sanchez - one hour
• HEAT - Jeff Maestas (Tarrant), Dennis Jettun (TCU), Cindy Hitt (Weatherford Community) - 20 min each, one hour total
• Delmia - Robert Klein - one hour
• Company Status of V4 to V5, 15min each, one hour total
