Introducing David Livingstone and Engineering.com … Making the HEAT Program Work for You
An open letter to the CATIA Education community

Since taking responsibility for the CATIA Education program at the end of last year, I have spoken to well over 100 educators in the engineering community. Over the course of the next few months, I look forward to speaking with even more of you!

My name is David Livingstone and I am your primary contact here at ENGINEERING.com.
My sole responsibility is managing the Higher Education and Training (“HEAT”) program in North America. HEAT was formerly managed exclusively by IBM, but in November of 2004 ENGINEERING.com entered into a partnership with a view to improving overall support of the program. Since then we have worked very closely with IBM and have successfully expanded the program to many new institutions. At the same time, we are working to ensure that longstanding HEAT participants receive the care and attention that they expect.

You may be interested in a brief background on ENGINEERING.com.

We are a growing company based in Mississauga Ontario, Canada, that provides many tools to assist engineers in academia and industry. In November 2004 we assumed the administration of the HEAT program.

Our website (www.engineering.com) was developed with the mission of becoming the ultimate resource tool for the global engineering community, and is an excellent resource for engineers of all ages and disciplines.

We have the CATIA Education Center website (www.catiastudent.com) where students can purchase the CATIA Student Version and where basic information on the Educational Configuration is available. As well, additional curriculum and technical support is offered.

In the coming months, we will be expanding the CATIA Education Center website to include more information for HEAT members and a forum where HEAT members can share ideas and seek advice and assistance from fellow peers.

If you have a specific concern or question, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I shall do my utmost to assist you.
