CATIA V5 Educators Communiqué
CATIA Community
Go to www.CATIASTUDENT.com or click through from www.ENGINEERING.com to see the new CATIA Educator’s portal. This new portal is the result of input from CATIA educators who answered a survey earlier in the year. They asked for a place to share lesson plans, get online support, manage licenses and more. Take a look and contribute your thoughts, lesson plans, sample models etc to this community so that others will be encouraged to share with you. This site was built for you.
Access privileges are based on whether or not you are registered with us as a CATIA or SMARTEAM educator. To register, visit http://community.engineering.com/catiaeducation.
CATIA Curriculum Contest
Please consider this a pre-announcement of the CATIA Curriculum contest. We know that there are a lot of great teaching tools that individual educators have developed, including lesson plans, exercises, models, etc. By sharing your ideas, the pool of content will grow and everybody wins. That is why we are planning a contest to encourage you to submit your work.
At this time we are looking for judges, so submit your name or the name of a colleague as a candidate. Similarly, if you have suggestions around rules and categories, now’s the time to share those ideas. Either send an e-mail directly to Dave Livingstone (dlivingstone@engineering.com), or post your idea in the CATIA Educator’s Community.
Fast Track to Learning CATIA
Did you know that each educational license of CATIA includes access to the Work Place Learning Solutions (WLS), also known as “Companion”? Companion training materials contain various learning components (textual data, movies, simulations and interactive practice exercises) that can assist you in creating exercises and lesson plans. Companion is also an excellent resource on how to learn to use the world’s most powerful design software.
